Big House is a reality television show based on the psychology experiments done in Berkley in the 70s involving a fictional prison setting. Cameras around the studio watch contestants in the role of either prisoner or prison guard as they "survive" 4 weeks of pretending to be correctional facility denizens and caretakers. They know they are being filmed.

Veritas is a night-time drama about the crew and cast of actors who play the fictional contestants on a reality television show called Big House. The actors who portray the characters work from a script, and so they know they are being filmed. When the actors are in character as participant of the reality TV show, the characters "know" they are being filmed, but when the story is about the actors' activities while not on camera, the characters do not "know" they are being filmed, since no camera exists in that fictional world.

Too Reel is the name given to the project set up to film the actors in the night time drama Veritas. Cameras are hidden around the studio of the night time drama, and pieces of their actual activities are intermixed with choice scenes from the fictional reality of Veritas and the fictional re-enactment of the show Big House. The actors on Veritas do not know about the secret cameras.

The Cast is a movie based on the scenes filmed during project Too Reel. The entire movie is fictional, and all of the actors playing roles in the film read from scripts when portraying actors who engage in activities when on the Too Reel cameras and not on the Veritas or Big House Cameras.

Prisoner #32445 is played Michael Stebbins, who is portrayed on Big House by Neal Cornoon on Veritas, who is portrayed by Kevin Jackson on The Cast.
