Holy Moly, Who's Got the Frijole?
The election season, like the situation in Iraq, is edging closer and closer to chaos. You've got Republicans leaning left to get votes and Democrats leaning right. Republicans are eschewing Prez B and the White House Boyz, even while W flies around the country campaigning for districts that should have been shoe-ins. Meanwhile, John Kerry is botching jokes, and Demos are moving away from him in effort to occupy the middle. Can it be, at long last, the middle is going to get representation in congress? Yes, I've been poo-pooing the GoP since I started this blog in June, but when push come to shove, the pin you where on your lapel doesn't make as much a difference as your voting record. Then again, I don't trust any of those politicians, and I don't doubt elected republicans would go back to siphoning cash to corporations. Whatever, we've got a week left, let's see what crazy promises they start making tomorrow.

Names from the Battlefield
Curt Weldon, the Representative from Pennsylvania, who was in the news thanks to allegations that he had funneled favors in exchange for his daughter's lobbying firm getting business, is now being linked to Italian weapon maker Finmeccanica, and the pork he handed to his district is starting to smell funny. Also from Pennsylvania, Rick Santorum is falling further behind in the polls, and doesn’t know what to do about it. Dennis Hastert is over in Illinois, actually campaigning despite his claims to being a sure thing--- and yet he won't debate John Laesch, his democrat opponent who is actually showing some good numbers (but probably not enough to win). And Nancy Pelosi, number one democrat in the House, is out making her voice heard, and the report form both sides is that she's far too scripted, almost robotic. And to make things even better, George Allen's goons literally threw a constituent shouting questions to the floor. This place is nuts.

Let's Talk About the Kerry Gaff
They are saying Kerry's gaff reveals a maladroit disposition and do we want someone with bad hands campaigning? If that's not politics devoid of statesmanship I don't know what is. The issue should not at all be that Kerry can't tell a joke. The issue shouldn't even be that Republicans, once again, are relying on American stupidity-- who could have thought Kerry really was referring to troops when every speech he gives mentions his own status as a veteran? It's so freaking obvious that Kerry was calling Bush stupid, and these idiot politicians have taken a page 17 story and pulled it to the front page in an effort to smear other democrats. Are you people high? No, the issue should be only whether or not the democrats have a better plan to save soldiers lives. That's it. That's how you should vote. Don't be swayed by smears, or fears, or tears. Vote for the job, no the veneer.

Is Ann Coulter Self-Aware?
Everything is boiling down to the elections and I am having a resurgence of my old apathy, making it difficult to find rantable subjects for the blog. So I turn to Ann Coulter, always an inspiration. In her November 1st column, she tosses around old election statistics like a sports bookie, proving that Democrats don't have a chance at all next week. And then she goes on to tell us what will happen when the Democrats win control. And then she goes on to show us how the Democrat party is dying. She describes polls which clearly show no one is voting for democrats-- is she taking these polls at cocktail parties? Does she realize she is contradicting herself? Does she not understand that voting is not a chemical reaction functioning according to laws of quantum mechanics? Can she not see that American citizens actually think for themselves and will vote, often, according to what they believe is right? No, she cannot, because she is too often just as stupid as she assumes and hopes everyone else to be.
