Saddam to Swing
Yes, he's been found guilty of killing people. And there's an automatic appeal, but the judges wanted Saddam dead, so he's dead. Analysts have called the trial "somewhat flawed but reasonable fair." Whatever that means. I am just trying to figure out what this means for America. Of course George Bush has trotted the verdict out as a victory for Americans and for Republicans especially and for war-supporters specifically. But can someone tell me again what Saddam Hussein ever did to the United States? Hey, I'm not defending the guy, I'm just curious as to why it's so important to be thrilled about this. Is it really just that Saddam was in charge of a country where terrorists where encouraged to breed? No jokes, people, this is the truth: the war that W has created has itself created way more terrorists than ol' Saddam created.

That Gay Old Pastor
I wasn't going to comment on that Ted Haggard guy who has admitted to meeting with a gay prostitute. Because who cares. I mean if his only "crime" is that he's secretly gay, so what? For those who don't know-- have you been reading the news at all? Because it has been in the papers and on the radio ad-nauseum for days now. He's the guy who was accused of going to a male prostitute, and he denied it, and then he admitted it, but that they didn't have sex, he just got a message, and he DID buy crystal meth, but then he threw it away. Oh, and Ted was the head of the National Association of Evangelicals, an organization which, of course, says homosexuality is immoral. So why mention it now? I dunno, I guess just to reiterate that conservatives of every color or being overturned by their own actions.

Bush Admits He Likes Oil
Bush via Rumsfeld has admitted that if we pull out of Iraq, the terrorists will get all of that rich, delicious oil. And what issue effects more people the same than the gas price issue? Have you noticed how gas prices have steadily gone down for weeks now, ever since the Republicans started getting smacked around by scandal? Think this is a coincidence? Better gas up today, kids, because tomorrow, W will either punish you for voting Democrat, by raising the gas prices, or he'll reward you for voting Republican by raising prices to increase profits. More on this later this week.

The Armed Services Hate Rumsfeld
Speaking of Rumsfeld, the armed services newspapers, The Army Times, The Navy Times, The Air Force Times, and the Marine Corps Times, have all called for Donald Rumsfeld to resign. Or get fired. That's right. Soldiers are saying their boss is no good. This is really bad, because soldiers are traditionally stoic about this sort of thing. You've seen a thousand movies where soldiers, under dynamic leadership, face impossible odds and march on, and yes, often die. But they do it willingly. So maybe the Rummy has made mistakes, that's a no brainer. But where's he really failed is in keeping the troops on his side. That's where the Republicans have failed altogether-- they've just assumed people would follow them, because they're the leaders. But that's not how America works. So here's another politician felled by hubris.
