December 7th thru the 13th, 2003Previous Week | Archive Index | Current Blog | Next Week Sunday December 14th, 2003 A toothache woke me up after 2 hours of sleep so I played with the internet until it was time to go to the Jingle Bell Run. Since I had no idea what our team captain looked like (our team: "The More the Merrier") and since I didn't want to leave my coat and sweats behind, I decided to walk it with A and T. Then we grabbed RW and went to The Rusty Pelican Cafe in Wallingford for breakfast.
Monday December 15th, 2003 Hopped out of bed, did a spot of work, and off to the gym. The plan was to do the elliptical, weights, elliptical thing. But after 30 minutes on the elliptical, I didn't feel much like doing weights. So I decided to run for 15 minutes, but that turned into 20 minutes, and then 30 minutes, and then 45, and finally hour. Man it felt good. But my heart rate was above 200 for the last five minutes, and now I'm a little but sore. But the worst part is my nipples. A wet t-shirt rubbing on them as I bounced along for 90 minutes was not good.
Did a wheatgrass shot at PCC, hit the tanning salon for 25 minutes of quality nap time, and then grabbed a cheese and a fry at Dick's. And then: Bowling SUCKED! But that's okay cause WE'RE IN FIRST! I bowled so badly I didn't even write down my scores. 120 something, 130 something (and that was with 3 strikes and a nine in the 9th and 10th frames), and finally a 149 in game 3. Forgot to mention: the latest art project from The Skeptical Press arrived today. I have a subscription to their work, thanks to a friend of the artist, Coriander Reisbord. She's the artist, not the friend. That is her real name. No links because I can't find any.
Tuesday December 16th, 2003 Went to the gym. I put band-aids on my nipples to avoid the chaffing problem with minimal success. Worked all day, and worked on some new Photoshop projects. Check 'em out in the Fotoshop Phun section in the sidebar. Dropped by Starbuck's to talk with my buddy J. She's a graphic design student so we talked about Photoshop. My friend R dropped by, and we chatted about her dancing career. She brought french fries. I am a cow. Coffee next.
Wednesday December 17th, 2003 I didn't go to the gym today, but then again, I don't have to: ![]() (click on picture for larger version.) The rest of the day was working, eating Taco Bell, getting a bit sick, falling asleep at my desk and cramping up something awful, getting lost in West Seattle with T looking for a shopping center, and then eating at the Alki Beach Grill.
Thursday December 18th, 2003 Sunshine out there today. What are going to do about that? I know: clean the house! Otherwise today was work, napping, work, napping, work, napping, and some Literati, some and a Romio's Nemea before going to the airport to pick up my roommate from her trip to Australia. I also finished The Last Continent and started Ang els & Demons
Friday December 19th, 2003 So I woke up and did the work thing. Maybe I should stop bothering to talk about the fact that I worked, since I do it all the time. Its not like I blog every bathroom break, too. Got the Time Warner Telecom proposal out the door and then went bowling at Leilani. I bowled five games by myself, and the scores were: 154, 168, 134, 135, and 248. Yes that's right! My first "clean" game, ever, and by far my all time high! Then E and CC arrived and we bowled another 5 games-- I ignored my scores there cause I was so thrilled about the 248. Grabbed a nap and a sunbath at Tropical Tan, and went out later to a party with-- well, everyone. Had much nog. Too much? We all ended up at a club called "Vogue." It was pretty damn funny. Goths and goth wannabes-- cartoon goths I call them, since they were so stereotypically goth... and the music, pop-goth or bubblegum goth, I mean, if I own one of the albums from which they played music, you know its not very authentic. I spent most of the night getting drunker and drunker and holding up a cashew dispenser. Crashed at T's place.
Saturday December 20th, 2003 This is pretty much a continuation of Saturday. Hangover. My third, ever. Woke up at T's and we went shopping at The Bon. Got some thing for my brother, his wife, and their baby. T got really cool martini glasses for a cousin of hers. Then we went to Dick's in Queen Anne. Thank god for Dick's. Not a hang-over cure, per-se, but makes it more tolerable. Picked up my car where we had left it at the party last night-- $35 parking ticket. Ah well. If you hafta pay to party, here's my wallet, mister. Drove home, cleaned up, and headed out again to buy something for another party. But my tooth started hurting something awful, and none of the pain killers I was taking were working anymore. Good thing I keep a phone book in my car! I found a guy who does emergency work no Saturdays, and so I was off to Shoreline. 90 minutes later, my back right wisdom tooth was out. It was an exhausting procedure. But he's a good man for seeing me on such short notice. Back to Archie Mcphee's for something to take to party number 2, and then over to party number 1 at my friend E's. I really wish I could have stayed longer-- E is good people, and her charge, CC, gave me some more rubber ducks and the Truth or Dare version of Jenga. That should come in handy! Party number 2, at R's, the Yankee-Wanker gift exchange. My contribution was metallic devil duckies, and I ended up with a George W. Bush coffee mug commemorating his inauguration. The big hit of the party was the red velvet Jesus brought by J. The party winded down, and I was the last to go.
