Breakfast at Flames with mom and dad, then met with a friend who's sister works at Google, for a mini tour of the offices. Too damn cool. I had a free coke there, in a bottle. Then I tried to drive to Blowfish to get me a rubber duck, but, Eastridge Mall is almost a morgue now, with most of the shops closed, including Blowfish.

So up to SF to pick up my friend there to drive back to Campbell to see my dad's show at The Gaslighter Theater. My dad and 3 other comedians did about 20 minutes each. Thanks to a nice UNPLANNED COINCIDENCE it just so happened that two people I knew from Seattle were there-- one to visit her sister over MLK Jr. weekend, and the other to vist her very good friend in Oakland. So those 4 came to the show too, as well as 2 other Googlers, a residency pal of the one I know from Seattle, and then four other dear friends of mine who live in the Bay area. Show over, a few of us had some tea at an Ethiopian place next to the theater, and then I and my Alaska friend drove up to Oakland airport to fly home.

A little work, a little Sims. Jacklife threw his IO-promotion party (Tiki Theme) and it was a mild success. Then he chucked it all to work for the military, got promoted to astronaut, got promoted to General, and now he's going to throw another party.

Picked some people up at the airport. They treated me to lunch at The Gravity Bar. I had the brown rice salad. I love's me some lemon tahini!

Went bowling. And there's a new Strong Bad e-mail at Homestarrunner.com, hence this bootlegged graphic. I bowled in the 130s. We lost, but that's okay. Hooter's Reject bowled above her average, but Punky Screwster was absent so she was subbed by Slaw Child. (these nicknames are getting out of hand). I really need to practice my bowling. I'm getting sloppy and inconsistent. Think I'll go to Vegas-- they have a 106 lane alley there!

This year is flying by FAST. It's already 20 days old. Jeezum crow.

So I went down to the post office to complain, IN PERSON, about my crappy mail service. The guy keeps returning my mail to the people who sent it, and then I don't get bills, letters, etc. It isn't all the time, just every once in a while. So I talked to a supervisor, and she took some notes, and I put up a big sign above my mailbox. Let's see if that helps.

Went the Tuesday Night SBC thing. Then I went to the grocery store. Then I played Literati with Nunu. Then I ordered some stuff from Homestarrunner.com. Then I went to bed. Nice and boring!

Played a little Inspector Parker. One of those logic puzzles where you are given clues like "Ophelia was in the room to the left of the knife." It was fun, but then the timer on the demo version ran out, and I don't feel like paying 20 bucks for the full version.

The girls and boys at memepool are the coolest. Thanks to them, I just took a perusal of the Law and Order Coloring Book. I am so going to buy one on payday next!

Lots of con calls today. So I ate a few tuna-fish sandwhiches. Bumblebee brand. Later I tutored PBnJ-head in Algebra. Then I went to WOTC and got s'mo Creepy Freaks and a few Corx sets to give to friends. Then a cheeseburger at Kidd Valley, and some quarters down the Homies vending machine-- no new homies, just new Palermos. Home for a bit, and then off to three different Safeways, looking for Homies vending machines. Nada. 24 Hour Fitness next, just to hang out with Pasadoblee as she practiced ballroom in the aerobics room while I read, and finished, Carpe Jugulum. You didn't even know I was reading it, did you? Home again, to drink some Mike's Hard Lime and eat mini carrots drenched in cucumber ranch and an hour of Inklink, an online multi-player sort of pictionary.

Those of you who haven't should check out Stu's blog to see how a REAL blog works.

Busy day coming up.

Lunch with El Gato Negro at Olive Garden in Northgate. Lunch with EGN always makes me extremely happy and this was no exception. Everyone should have an EGN, and if they did, the world would be a paradise.

Went and saw The Triplets of Belleville. Before that was French Onion Soup and a dessert crepe at 611 Supreme on Capitol Hill. The movie was at The Egyptian, which was very cool, reminding me of Liberty Hall back in Lawrence. The movie was really good-- there was short by Salvador Dali and Walt Disney, if you like surrealism it was cool in a college-dorm-poster kind of way. I don't want to say too much about Triplets itself, because I saw it with no preconceived notions and that's how you should see it too. I attended said film and restaurant with Vroommaster, who is a pretty amazing woman. 'Nuff said, or I'll start blushing.

Played some Prince of Persia. The latest 3D version on the Xbox. Its not too challenging, but the visuals are nice, and its cool how it adhere to the elements of the old side-scroller version. Fell asleep on the couch, still wearing my coat.

Friday January 23rd, 2004.
The day started like most, except earlier, since I had to helps some East Coast dudes get a proposal out the door. So I did that and other work as well. Afternoon arrived and I'm off to the Alderwood Mall in Lynwood. I hit Spencer's and bought a mess of Homies. I have all of series 4 now. Hooray for me! Then McDonald's (shouldn't have done that) then Toys R Us to feed quarters into a Homies vending machine to get series figurines and more Palermos. They're growing on me.

Home again to have some folks over. While I waited I played some Prince of Persia and some Inklink-- I got tired of the losers and lamos in the beginner's rooms who toss out insults and draw dirty pictures. So I went into an intermediate room. The words were tough! I had to draw "desolate," and "almighty," among others.

Finally people arrived. You want names? First D5V arrived for a cuppa and a Conros Crackling Pine Mountain Log in the fireplace. Then TG3, for gossiping purposes, and I burned some cookies. Next MT03 arrived with RRR2-6, who was almost in a car-wreck, and finally, 57TC showed. The 6 of us played Catch Phrase and Taboo, ate a Samos and a G.A.S.P from Romio's, watched some hilarious flash animations (check the new section on the right of this here blog), drank delicious rum-laced beverages, and had home made key-lime pie brung by TG3. Everyone left in the reverse order of their arrival, and finally I slept on thre couch in front of the dying fire, listening to a Mozart Mass cause sometimes they are just so darned pretty.

Went over to Toys R Us to feed my Homies addiction-- a bunch of quarters later and I only have one new one, and a Palermo no less. Oh well. Met up with Lemonbutter at South Center Mall-- went to Spencer's for some Homies and an Evanescence poster, Orange Julius, WOTC for some games (more Corx and Battle Ball, a football game played with miniatures). Then we met Seyhey, had dinner at Jai Thai in Belltown, then went and saw The Butterfly Effect at the Cineplex Odeon. I give it a 7. I had never actually seen Ashton Kutcher in anything before, and he did okay. The Temporal Causality Paradox was not abused too much (unlike in Minority Report) so I have no complaints. After that we dropped Seyhey at home and had some cocoa at Dilletante's.
