April 4th thru the 10th, 2004Previous Week | Archive Index | Current Blog | Next Week Sunday April 4th, 2004 Today is Sunday and what's that mean? It means lots
of things, none of them able to be articulted in words. Except that in sense I just articulated them,
describing them as indescribable. Indescribable, thus, is a one-word oxymoron. So I have spent a
large part of the morning cleaning up my various computer desktops. Now I have to fold some clothes and take
some showers and eat some foods and suches and whatnots and y'all are probably getting tired of my tired
face so lets see what other image I can find to grace this brief Sunday morning entry.Jump to: Dim Sum at House of Hong, and then Merrygobuckets gave me a ride to the airport. 2 hours later, I'm in San Jose. Post Roast with my parents, brother, sister inlaw, nephew. Monday April 5th, 2004 So I went to work in building 10 where the CEO's office is, but I didn't see him there. I did my thing, with the working, which includes conference calls where I have to listen, my hands are free, and I doodles. I haven't doodled like this since I used to come into the office when I lived here in San Jose. Must be something in the water. On the evening I went to dinner with Helmione at Nola, a Cajun place, and had the stuffed pork and a Kick-Ass Cosmo (she had the fried chicken and a Guinesss and laughed her ass off at how gay my food choices were versus hers). After that we went to the Rose and Crown to see my dad do some stand-up. Tuesday April 6th, 2004 For
lunch I ate in the good old Cisco building 17 cafeteria, eggrolls and noodles. Then a meeting with the CEO
of K&J, my boss. Had to jump over to Frye's
Electronic's to get a new ear-phone thing for my cell phone, and I picked up a Dynaflex exercise ball as well. I've always wanted to try it but I could
never get one to work. But now I can and as a result I have forearms like popeye. In the evening I went to
Ichi with the work people. Its a tiny little place in Los Altos and easily the best Japanese food
I've ever eaten. After that, the Los Altos Grill for a drink (I had ameretto floating on rootbeer. Trust me:
it's awesome).Wednesday April 7th, 2004 Sorry for the lack of updates. I am in San Jose. Team
meetings for three days, and I'm attending a lot of my dad's stand-up gigs. Today is the usual doggerel, and
then tonight we're playing Bocce Ball in Los Altos, to be followed by dinner at a vineyard called
Testarossa. I WANT to be more effusive (like usual) but not only are they keeping me busy, but I have to
find a Starbuck's to log on and update my web page since I can't do it over the secure connection at work.
But if you're reading this, I must have found SOMETHING, so there. I'll try to get some pictures of the
goings on 'round here uploaded soon. For now, it'll just have to be picture of this duck. Thursday April 8th, 2004 Meetings are
finally done. Whew! Of course I am still here in San Jose and will be for a little while yet. But at least I
won't be as exhausted (yeah, right). No, really, these damn things sap one of all strength. There's
something about sitting in a chair under flourescent lights watching power point presentations that God did
not mean for His creation to endure. For reals: "power point" is based on the latin word for "damn evil." If
I'm lying I'm crying: do you see tears? The upside is the information was all very good and its always great
to interface with my coworkers. These are amazing people.Got to get to the post office and pay a few bills and send the kids at SBC a post card since I miss them. Well, one of them. No, all of them, really, they're good people, (just like my coworkers). And thank goodness they're in Seattle because I'd hate to have to fly down here once a week to see them. But I would do it, y'all now that.
Drove up to Oakland to see my friend Bellaruse, and we went to a kick-ass barbecue joint called Everett and Jones. It was kick-ass. After that we went and watched Reefer Madness at this cool old theater with couches init. The Parkway theater. As we walked in, old Mexican monster flicks were plating, and then before the show started the owner and his wife came on stage and danced for us. He was dressed in a gold wrestler's mask, fez, and zoot-suit. They gave away some stuff and we watched some anti-teen trailers from the 50s/60s and then the flick. All in a pretty cool kind thing. Good Friday April 9th, 2004 I am so tired it's not even funny. It's not even a joke. I stay up all night with neat people and then I wake up at the crack of dawn to get to work. Arrgh. My eyes feel red and my brain feels fuzzy. I know, though, that I better not nap cause it'll be one of those naps where you wake up feeling all puffy and hot and twice as tired as before.
Bowled with my bro at Saratoga lanes, which was cool and all. I had to use a house ball and the only one that I found half-way confortable was a 15 pounder. What a difference an lb makes. After that I challenged him to a game of DDR on the machine there, and since it was his first time, there was much hilarity. I, on the other hand, impressed one of the locals enough for her to challenge me to subsequent game, though she played on light mode while I played on standard and heavy. I was one sweaty moofoo after that. The dinner at Los Amigos with my parents, and off to Nobellia's pad to chill with some sweet wine and play wit the internet. I'm helping her get a web-site going (link will be provided soon) to showcase her musings about life and stuff. Then I ate some cookies and looked at her phat foto albums of her jaunts 'round Europe with a Texan. Saturday April 10th, 2004 Turns out I left my credit card at that pie and ice-cream
place. But before going to get it I headed over to a few shops with my parents, including Frye's, and then we ate lunch where my credit card was. Then it was over to my
friend Hab's house to see her king snake (it's called Bones) and to run some errands with she. I got a
bottle of the good port, finally bought some postcards at the Winchester Mysery House, and now I am at Kinko's, where she works, with no internet connection like she promised me,
damnit, so who knows when I'll have this uploaded.Meanwhile, I have fixed a few broken links on the cool flash section over on the left, and added a new one that my pal showed me last night, called Ill Will Press. I haven't watched all the epsiodes yet, but the one called "Small Medium large" was my intro and it is hilarious. Check it out! Dad M.C'd at The Blue Rock Shoot in Saratoga, a place where he M.C's every Wednesday usually. A handful of comics, all quite good, including the headliner, Howard Stone, no, not the pastoral minister and professor from Texas, the other one. All quite funny.
