Sunday May 9th, 2004, Mother's Day
Happy Mother's day, mom! Happy Birthday, Squiddevil!

Holy cow I could NOT wake-up today. It was crazy. I slept in, then got up and made some eggs (note to all-- even after a month, eggs don't go bad). And then I read from Corelli's Mandolin a bit, but fell asleep in the couch, and then I got up and wandered around bleary-eyed, and when I got to my room to turn off the noise maker thing, I fell asleep again. I managed to be up by 4 or so.

I went to D5V's to get Squiddevil's car, since he had driven it to her's to get a ride to the previous night's festivities, but was later too drunk to drive it home. I then picked up Velma and we went over to Squid's, where the whole gang had gathered for his birthday. So I left to get me some Mountain Dew Code Red which I mixed with Bombay Sapphire Gin and it was hella good. We all-played Nano Fictionary after eating a variety of pizzas from Pagliacci's, and then we ate some of Velma's damn good cake and watched Hudson Hawk, Squid's favorite movie of all time. He let me borrow Halo so when I got home (Jujubee gave me a ride, cause she's the bizest, yo) I played that for a while. THAT WAS SUNDAY!!!

I ate a hard-boiled egg. I went to Larry's and got some batteries for the .mp3 player. Today is going to be some kinda music day. As I write this, it's Jethro Tull. I ate a banana. Only half-updated the blog. My friend D5V went to the dentist, and they injected her in the wrong place, and so swelled up like a chipmunk. Since she couldn't go to work, she dropped by my pad, we hit the IHOP, rented some movies, and half-watched them as we worked. The first one was All The Queen's Men, a transvestite WWII movie starring Matt Leblanc and Eddie Izzard. Apparently it cost $25 Million to make, and raked in $25,000 in its two weeks in the box office. The other movie was My Life Without Me. I had a conference call in the middle of it, but I did come back in time to see the lovely face of Leonor Watling.

Go checkout Squidevil's web page. On there right now is a good example of the latest net phenomena: okay, it doesn't have a name. Basically it's a looped bit of animation and music... here's another one: X Gonna Give It To Ya; maybe I'll make one too-- never worked with sound before.

Took a nap, and when I woke, pretty much stayed asleep all through bowling. I bowled a two bad games and a decent one... against the dudes who bowled in the high 200s last week. But at least they were cool dudes. I was so out of it. One of my teammates, Punky Screwster, with an average of 100 and a high game of 130 bowled a 164! Kick-ass! She pretty much won the third game for us. Fortunately, my second game was the high and so we won that too. But kudos also to Hooters Reject, cause she came in consistant and if she had been sloppy liie me, wouldn't wouldn't have won any at all. All in all, we got a pretty, cool little team.

At home again, and NOW I'm awake. Watched some episodes of "Angel" and ate salads. Lettuce salads, egg salads, etc. Picture the lonely man, sitting on his couch in the quiet night time, rain outside, as he gently peels eggs while the TV mutters hackneyed plots and melodramatic characters at him. Don't it just break your heart?

Lots of work today, and photoshop. Some new pictures in Fotoshop Phun and I wanted to get ahead on Monstrous Words. Which I did! I ended up, as a result, (sort of) eating fast food twice. I really need to stop this. First it was Burgermaster, and later it was The Wing Zone. In the evening we did the Coffee thing, like we do. I photoshopped all night after that, with an hour break to watch an episode of "Angel."

I totally revamped the Monstrous Words page, cause I was tired of the old one-- it was complicated to update and didn't look too good. So, now its a little less complicated and looks a tiny bit better.

Boy, did I have Seattle kind of evening. But first I will describe the day. Woke up and did the DDR thing. I stopped talking about DDR because I was afraid people were getting bored with it. But then I stopped doing it as much... if there's a correlation, then I'm afraid I'm going to have start boring you people with more details. Sorry. So, me, DDR, 1000 calories, 49 songs, about 90 minutes.

A devestatingly gorgeous, not to to mention brilliant (I have photographic and written evidence), paralegal from DC sent me the following link: Awful Plastic Surgery. It seems there's a watchdog organization for boob jobs and nose jobs in Hollywood. Check it out.

Lots of work, the usual. Some photoshopping (you'll see it in the days to come). Went over to Silver Platters and bought the Brian Regan album and the new David Cross album. Totally different comedy styles, but both completely hilarious. Am I as picky about comedy as I am about music? Let me list which comedians I like, in alphabetical order: Lewis Black, David Cross, Mitch Hedberg, Eddie Izzard, Brian Regan... yeah, I guess I'm pretty picky. I also found albums from Cowboy Bebop, but damn, they wanted 35 bucks for them! And all the Weird Al albums were 17 each...

So here's where the very Seattle part starts. Went for a walk around Greenlake with D5V, then met Glendella at The Sitting Room in Queen Anne to discuss writing. It was a very productive meeting. After that I dropped by East Street CDs to look for used Weird Al. All I found was Polka Party. Mostly I wanted it for the polka.

So, vote, kids. Do I spend this Saturday wandering around Seattle to used music stores, looking for more Weird Al, or do I walk around Greenlake 10 times? I really want those polkas. They are such brilliant social commentary. I have a few thanks to Kazaa, but I want them all. And then I will write a paper about them.

Work. Photoshop. E-mail. Taco bell. Haircut. The phone. Not in that order. D5V's for Frasier finale and leftover Thai curry. Details? Okay. Work was getting TWTC to 99%. Just waiting on legal now. And waiting... and waiting... Photoshop was the same thing I've been reporting on for the past few days. Tomorrow I'll be updating the Fotoshop Phun site so that IE people can see stuff there too.E-mail was my wonderful friends. Man oh man, but I DO have some good lookin friends. Taco Bell was a craving. I apologize to yon small business owner, but I didn't want a quality dining experience, I wanted MSG. As it was, I had more volume than was comfortable. Haircut was the beauty school, a cute little student name of Lizzie, who's only been in Seattle since December. She did a fine job. The phone was various friends and things. Frasier was just another excuse to hang with the peoples and eat the left over Thai Curry. And that is all, y'all.

Hell of a day. Heck of a. Not in a bad way. Got up at 5:52 am and finished off a proposal. That took an hour. Ran down to Greenlake (12 minutes), around it on the gravel edge (not the blacktop inside-- 32 minutes), ran back home (12 minutes). Started mowing the yard, till the battery gave out on the weed wacker, and so raked up clippings. Vacuumed the house, took out the recycling, started the laundry. Walked over to Larry's for some bacon and eggs. Grabbed the recharged whacker and mowed some more, and raked. Made myself some bacon and eggs. Took a nap. Took a shower. Ate leftover Thai Curry. Did the DDR thing for 90 minutes (1000 calories-- 36 stages). Met up with D5V for another walk around Greenlake (40 minutes). Took another shower.

Whew! Squidevil and Fantabulous dropped by to pick me up and we met a whole slough of people at The Stumbling Goat, a bistro in Greenwood. Good, but pricey. I had a lemondrop. Then we went to The Baltic Room, just around the corber from The Chapel. Many drinks. Fantabulous got me to dance. Don't know how. No one's ever gotten me to do that who wasn't married or having a birthday. It was sort of fun-- don't tell anyone! They were mixing some house-ish hip-hop. Then we all went home, but I was not quite ready for sleep, so I DDR'd some slow songs, watched an episode of Angel. The end.

After yesterday's activities and the night's activities, it's no wonder today was a pokey kind of day. I had to go over to Squid's cause I left my camera in his car, and after that I did some window shopping Boradway. Then I had a hair appointment to get an awesome dye job. After that it was a trip to Target to get some supplies and other whatnots. I got a tripod, some duct tape, a digital jump rope, a plunger, a box of donuts, and some razors. Photoshopped for a spell and then Dafaria came over to borrow the scanner. Then I went to D5V's for some fajitas and to watch Matchstick Men. It was okay. After that we just talked and played Rummy 500.
