Went with a friend over to Redmond for a walk to raise money for NAAR. I don't know how long the walk was, but it took about an hour or so. It was at Lake Sammammish park. And then we went over to Capitol Hill and met someone else to have brunch at the Broadway Grill. I had the Salmon Eggs Benedict. No, wait, not salmon eggs, just Eggs Benedict with salmon on it. And capers. Then we watched a SIFF film, a documentary called Born into Brothels. You should go see it, and you should also check out Kids With Cameras, an organization that turns impoverished children into photographers.

Back at home I Eye-Toyed and then ended up watching the first part of Monster before it got too upsetting, and had to swithch to Japanese Story, a trully awful film with no redeeming value. Not even the nudity. But because I usually make the images for movies about 100 pixels high, I need to write more to feel up the space next to it. Umm... The lead actress, Toni Collette, is the mom in The Sixth Sense. I didn't know she was Australian. But she is. And in Australia her teeth are way bigger. Take a look at this: should I buy one? I am considering it seriously... click on the picture for details.

So I hadda go into the Bellevue office because Comcast gets mad when I try to upload files that are too big. Of course I get there and the network is all kerflooey and I can't get on. I called tech support, and while I was on hold, I figured it out myself and transferred my files. I was supposed to be in the office for 30 minutes, not 3 hours. Oh well. Makes one REALLY appreciate working at home, when the traffic at NOON is so darn sucky.

Took a nap, took my neighbor over to the car repair place, went over to Slaphonkey's to watch the rest fo Monser and Scary Movie 3. Yes, repeats for me, but I got pizza and a pepsi out of it. Sweet deal!

I went to the gym! I did that thing, that machine, what do you call it... anyway, I did that for a half hour, and then I went home and DDR'd. Work happened all over the place, so I did that too. I made some salsa, which was okay, I suppose-- good enough to eat, anyhow. I watched some Invader Zim on DVD, which was funny. I went for a walk around the lake with two peoples, and then went bowling (we didn't win and I didn't bowl very well) and then I went and picked someone up from the airport. That was Monday!

I woke up gently. I had started out asleep on the couch, then moved to the guest bed, then down to my own bed, and then woke with sun and crashed on the couch some more. Got some work done, and decided it was high time I cleaned the car. And so I did, vacuuming that mother. Now I need to find a car wash.

Dainty 5-Volt played hooky so we went to Discovery park for a walk. A nice day! The park lapped, we proceeded to House of Hung for a light dim-sum. 'Twas scrumptious. I dropped her at home and then hit Silver Platters for the new Velvet Revolver album, Contraband. Its pretty good. It doesn't break any new rock ground, but it does make a statement about today's rock scene: the older stuff is better than the newer stuff. Lots of whine-rock out there, and this marriage of eighties GnR with nineties STP is a nice antidote. And no, I don't buy into the whole idea that "Jets" and "The Darkness" are a return to an old (70's) guitar-rock sound. They're whine-rock, through and through.

Home was s'more work, of course, and a salad of gurkins, tomats, and onions in a red wine and garlic dressing. Scrumptious. I contemplated napping but decided to walk the lake before coffee. So I walked the lake before coffee. And we had quite a nice turn-out at SBC: some regulars, who are always good to see, and some new ones as well, very interesting people; I think they will be excellent additions to the group. We did the Rosita's thang, and I gave one a ride home... filched some ice-cream, slept.

So far I've managed to run around Greenlake. And I updated the blog. As you can see. I am writing this much now to mention that, for the past few days, I've been keeping this computer off. That's right. I turn it on to do the blog, load up some mp3s, and then off again. It's weird. But necessary. I am too overstimulated.
