Previous Entry | Archive Index | Current Blog | Next Entry the past few days Third time's the charm, right? fuck you, Myspace. Or maybe I should say fuck you, Netscape. Maybe even Fuck you, IBM Thinkpad. This is yet another attempt to enter a blog entry. My thumb keeps brushing the touchpad ro some key, jumping me around pages before I finish writing, and every time, when I come back here, what I've written is gone. Don't know why I bother, really. Someone smarter than me once said she doesn't get the point of blogging. I think I agree... not personal diary type journal blogs. Who cares what anyone did at the mall on Thursday? I went to the mall (Southcenter) with the GF on Thursday, the shoppes around it, for furniture browsing. Locked my keys in my car, second time ever in the Kia (first time was at the airport, engine running, they made me rent a slimjim for 7 bucks). Thank goodness the GF has AAA. At least I did see some chairs by a company called Stokke-- don't bother with their website, which is pretty but useless. Look at their chairs at www.designcomfort.com After that we went to Claimjumpers. Holy cow. White Trash Palace, and I was their King. Had the Whiskey Chicken, GF had the Crab Cakes. Tukwilla popo where there, collecting donations for Special Olympics. The big chain restaurant, the hicksville 5-0, pole-vaulting retards, the pasty tub in the black wife-beater and the cowboy hat, the slices of cake bigger than most cakes... I should write about it in a story. Friday I FINALLY got Calsaulen to level 20-- Just Agnossia to go now. She’s 16, but she's a Priest, so she's kinda wimpy. And I don't like grouping... yawn for now Wow-ers. Later we went to the gym, but because of the knee I couldn't do any cardio, so I hit the chest and back machines, listening to Britpod. Now I'm sore, which is a good thing I think. The big event of the evening was going to Can Can. Not good. It was VERY good to see everyone. The ladies where hot hot hot. BUT, they screwed up orders, brought food out at the wrong time, gave some folks tiny little portions, and the prices where no where close to the value... we only saw the can-can dancers twice... don't know if it was worth the extra cost. Also, if we wanted to stay past 10, we had to pay the cover for the live band. So all in all, I am NOT even a little bit impressed. After that we went to Kells, which was fun, but I had a headache. I want to go back and we will, soon I hope. There. Hope I can post this before I delete it again.
Kickballo Wha's up. Last night was the first game for the Third Grade Bad-Asses, the kickball team I am on. We lost. I did not play, on account of my knee, but we had a full teaM SO THAT WAS OKAY. Damn caps-lock. Its because of my hunt-and-peck typing style. Anyway, we only lost 2-1, which is pretty good. And we had fun. And our shirts this season are way better than last time-- we got the dark navy blue, looks almost black (except when you put it next to an actual black shirt). Blah blah blah. Busy today, right now. I am formatting RFPs like crazy, got the con calls out the wazoo, and in between moments are a bit of season 2 Law & Order. Gotta get to the grocery store and delivery the rent check... and some soy sauce. For the ramen. I am addicted. Rock N Roll!
nuffin Hi Blog. Hi Myspace. So today I went to see a student dentist, who needs to fill a bunch of cavities for her schoolwork. Alas, I did not have any. I honestly didn't know what to excpect when I went in there, and I have to admit I was thrown, because I'm so used to the usually routine-- you go in, wait forever, and when you finally find a magazine article worth reading, they call you back for x-rays. Then they clean your teeth, the dentist comes out, pokes at you for 5 seconds, and tells you you'll need about 10k in work done. This time is was just go in, have my teeth poked at, get some x-rays, and be told no cavities. So that's okay I guess. Also went to target, but earlier, for the new Tool album. Also got for very cheap a Law and Order game. It's interesting, but it has bugs. Sometimes when I click one way the guy walks the other way, and that's it. Also, it's a bit limited-- there's some questions I want to ask some people, but it won't let me. So I guess I wouldn't make a good cop, since I disagree with them on which questions should be asked. Yawn squared. Can't think of anything else-- okay I can, just don't feel writerly.
The Tool Concert Whoa. Ears still ringing a bit. It was really good. Of the 4 Tool concerts I've been to now, the best by far, in terms of being able to see, being able to hear. The Paramount is a pretty good venue. This was more or less the ideal concert situation. Waited only two weeks from when I bought the ticket. The album came out the same day as this concert. Parked a few blocks away, for free. Walked right to my seat, no opening act, show started about 10 minutes after I got there, last 90 minutes or so, no encores. Yeah, I'm 34, and I judge a concert experience on factors other than the band. The band was tight, as usual. Maynerd's changed his range a bit, which should be interesting on the next few albums. The drummer is not human. The bass player doesn't want to be human. And the guitar player is more or less at one with his mastery of feedback. An excpetional band that has only gotten better over the past 14 years. Yes, maybe they don't throw down the angry riffs like they did in '92, but the are stills masters of the loud. I didn't buy a t-shirt though.
Defrag This Awful internet connection yesterday, so during troubleshoot, found that I needed to defrag my hard drive. That was 10 am... here it is almost 22 hours later, and it's only 40% done. Probably something is wrong. (I'm writing this on my work computer, is how I know it's still going.) The computer is five years old... maybe it's time for a new one. I was going to wait for the new MS OS to come out, since who wants to pay for it again and install it? But maybe I can't wait. Maybe I'll get a phat laptop. I dunno. Went and saw Scary Move 4 last night. Hilarious, but not as good as Scary Movie 3. There where some good moments in it, though. Ate at the Blue Star on Wednesday (CCNA class was cancelled, garsh flarb it). Was with a bunch if injuns. Yeah, this is (another) boring blog entry. Maybe I'll write a story today, since I can't play WoW.
happy seis de mayo I am watching X-files, and yes, since it's still daylight on outside, I do not have the lights on. In my maison. Yes, the smoking man is in this one. Today I walked a friend's dog, and before that I went to Costco, and before that ate breakfast at Patty's Eggnest. YESTERDAY was Cinco de Mayo, and it was alright. Last year's was damned awful; this year's had no planning and was still better. Only a few people showed up, though, at Rosita's, which was packed, but somehow we got a table outside. Other people showed up, but we had already paid so we went to Azteca. Our waitress, Sharon, was the first one, EVER, who offered to split the bill. Blah blah blah. Hey! Uh... Saw X-Men 2 so I can now go see it in the theaters... saw Scary Move 4 and it was funny... still the best part, as in 3, where Anthony Anderson and Kevin Hart. Well, fine, I do have a crush on Anna Farris. But just a little one. BORING! Let me think go something controversial to say... that song by Buckcherry came on the radio today, "Crazy Bitch." Here is another example of a band that rocks, but with a songer who sucks ass and who's lyrics are asinine. The 'B' word is as bad as the 'N' word, in my opinion. No word, that I am aware of, so automatically demeans men... or white people. for that matter. Any man who uses the 'B' word, and doesn't mean it ironically, is admitting he thinks all women are inferior, and that pointing out that someone is female is automatically an insult. Its not even as if the lyrics are the necessary part of a song. Sing about partying, or driving with the top down, or drinking tequila on the tour bus and playing scrabble... who cares. But singing a song about getting laid? The point? Hey, why not, I'm going to post the dumb-ass lyrics here, and you can judge for yourself.
Break me down, you got a lovely face
