Weekend &tc
So, let's see. Monday night we went to the gym and started watching Lost Season 2 and had some really good turkey-brat burgers, and not in that order. During the day I worked, played some Puzzle Pirates-- The Pirate Bukk is up to 6000 pieces of eight, halfway to buying my own sloop!

Sunday we flew back from San Jose and I went and performed at The Comedy Underground. No, I didn't tell anyone about it, because it was mostly a last-minute thing. And since I didn't bring anyone, and since they don't know me there to well yet, I was 27th. The place was mostly empty by the time I got up. Some of the comics on the list had already left. I rushed through my set as fast as possible, didn't even take off my hat or adjust the mic stand. It was pretty sad. But it was a good experience for me. Comedy is hard work

Saturday we spent time with my family, had some barbecue which was very good and mom's potato salad which was, as always, amazing. Then we went to a wedding, which was the whole point of being down in San Jose in the first place. This was one classy wedding, let me tell you. It was at the Hotel Valencia in San Jose's swank Santana Row. I was delighted because I got to see an old friend I hadn’t seen in ages, who just had a baby and wow, she looks great. Back to the wedding: the nuptials where brief, then it was hor's douvres for a bit, and then the reception dinner. I had the beef, my GF had the chicken, and both where very good. The cake was amazing-- I love wedding cake. Man oh man. The GF talked me into dancing a bit, which I did, thanks to champagne, and then we split to hit a bookstore for something to read on the return flight. I picked up A Spot of Bother by Mark Heddon, who wrote The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. As of now I am mostly done with it, but I'll give you better details when I am done.

Friday I went into the Cisco office via the lite rail, just like old time. Had lunch with my boss and another co-worker at In N Out Burger. Yes, I ate the fries-- I didn't hate them as much as I usually do. Friday night the GF sister and her boyfriend came over to have dinner with my folks, a meal of Cornish game hens, expertly roasted on the BBQ. Then we went back to Santana Row (see Thursday) for some entertainment, but we where so damn tired, we decided to get coffee instead. We tried one place, The Village, and the service sucked so bad we left and went across the way to some French-type place, where the where instantly nice to us.

Thursday we flew into San Jose and the GFs sister and her boyfriend picked us up, took us to Santana Row for dinner at some place that serves Singapore food, which is sort of like Thai. It reminded me of Wild Ginger here in Seattle, a place I have never been too terribly impressed with, but I was impressed by this place, so there you go. Then they dropped me off at my folks' place and I crashed.

The week before all that? Not sure. Busy with a new deal at work, the CCNA class, Puzzle Pirates, and so on. My weight loss has stalled, mostly because I don't go to the gym enough. I'll try to be better and keep you informed too. Yesterday, for example, I broke out the DDR and played for half and hour. Sweat city. I might play today, too, though I already went to the gym this morning and watched some Mad TV

. That's all for now. I'm pretty busy these days but if I discipline myself I might be able to get more time in here. Stay tuned.
