George Bush is An Awful Man
I know I have not updated in a long time. I know the above title is nothing you have not heard before. And I am preaching top the choir. But I have to say this. I have always reserved a tiny portion of respect for the President, just in case it turns out he meant well. A VERY tiny portion, almost invisible, because he really has led this country into one of it's most wasteful eras ever, in terms of money, human lives, and wasted potential I the arts, sciences, etc. But I kept that bit aside just so I would never say I am 100% opposed to the man. 99.9%, to be sure, but full commitment is another thing altogether.

But I just now, at 11:40 PDT, heard about the shooting in Virginia. And this is awful. And I do not want to detract from the tragedy, or make it worse, by lambasting the president. But the quote I read, in the article, was as follows, and I will highlight the awful part:

A White House spokesman said President Bush was horrified by the rampage and offered his prayers to the victims and the people of Virginia.

"The president believes that there is a right for people to bear arms, but that all laws must be followed," spokeswoman Dana Perino said.

30 people dead and all we get from the President is politics. The deadliest shooting rampage in our nation's history, and all we get from the President is an attempt to curry favor with the NRA.

I could go on, talk about 9/11, Iraq, etc, but I'll leave it to you to foment your own disgust for this man. He makes me sick. And I feel a bit hopeless. We, as a country, are never going to do well as long as George Bush has power.
